Of Mini Photo Shoots

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

When your significant other is an aspiring photographer, you get the perks of being a model (even when you're so far from looking like one). I am usually the one initiating our impromptu photo shoots though - I mean it's good practice for him and yes, I do like to get photographed 'professionally' once in a while. Although many shots later, I sometimes start complaining about smiling too much or holding a pose too long (sorry, babe). But nonetheless, it's still fun to play model. And it's great to have others play it too - thanks Ced and Zoe!

I really just want to get you guys to see the great works of Nick. A far-cry from being a model that I am, he's still able to capture the beautiful in me.

So this is Nicholas Medina Photography... ☺

This was taken just a few Saturday mornings ago. I woke up, looked out the window, and thought it to be a beautiful day to take pictures. I liked how this was a relaxing (hard as it was to believe any photo shoot is) shoot as this was just by our backyard (our landlord's). The bunnies were also out in their playpens to stretch and eat some grass. Our landlords were also there setting up their place for a baby shower they're hosting for their friend, and their daughter playing with our bunny Chip.

Introducing our newest baby, Chip! He's a purebred Holland Lop bunny. How cute is he, right?!

Would you believe this was taken on a sunny Saturday afternoon? It's the power of the strobe lights, man.

These were taken in our front yard, for all our neighbors to see! He's got his three studio lights all set up and I'm there posing and sprawled on the ground. But I've heard of models being shot at cold winters with nothing but a light dress on, so who am I to complain?

My brother and his girlfriend, Zoe during our birthday celebration. Zoe and I's birthdays are quite close so we celebrate together.

The last two photos were particularly hard on us 'models.' The sun was blazing and because we wanted to make use of that, out came Nick's giant reflectors! They were so hard on our eyes! We couldn't open our eyes without tearing up so bad! Man, those reflectors are harsh! Our faces burned too. The only way to shoot this was to close our eyes while Nick set his camera and reflectors. When he's ready, he counts to three and we open our eyes, he shoots, and we close them as soon as the shutter clicks. These shoots easily take up two to four hours too. The life of a  model is no joke. So many thanks to Zoe who endured the sun so Nick could practice. ☺

I'm getting excited again after talking about these mini photo shoots. Perhaps I could get Zoe to put on her recent cosplay attire for Nick to shoot away.

Keep livin' happy! ☺
