of these cute DIY ribbon paper clips

Cute paper clips really up anyone's planner design game. They can be pricey though for such small things but it's really the unique design and the effort it took to make them that you're paying for, so all's good. But I know I won't really be using them too much and only to add that little extra cuteness to my planners so I thought I'd try and make my own. And it's as easy as it looks.

You only really need three things - paper clips, your design, and glue.

And how much do these cost altogether? $3!!! Yep, a dollar each!

All bought at a dollar store. I used a pack of gold chic bow embellishments as what they're called, some large paper clips and a hot glue gun. The chic bow embellishments already have sticky backs but of course, they won't stick that much to paper clips so I enforced them together with a glue gun.

The only downside to this though is that they don't look that appealing because I used glue guns which tend to create a bump if not done professionally. But is there actually a way to do this cleanly? I'd like to know! But anyway, I'm the only one who'll be using them and won't be seeing the back anyway so they'll have to do. But even for a simple job like this, they still looked really cute on my planner when I put them on! I'll share photos once I incorporate more of them onto my planner.

I'll try and do different designs next time. Do you create your own cute paper clips as well?
