Of Familial Blessings

Once in a while, God gives you something so great that you never thought to ask for before - and you're left to wonder how He knew to give you a blessing as amazing as that which you've just received. You can only smile and utter many thanks, that He saw you deserving of such a wonderful gift.

That's how it was for me when I got to be part of Nick's wonderful family. When I prayed for Nick, I didn't think to include 'great family background' as part of my 'requirements' for my man. And I was very specific when I created that list. I did write though that I wanted him to be family-oriented. I love my family so much and enjoy spending time with them, so I hoped my man would also get along with them. And yes, he did, so well it's amazing. God works wonders, I tell you! Just keep on praying, hold on to your faith, and trust in His works and perfect timing.

Just as amazing how Nick is, so is his family. I wasn't surprised though. A great man as Nick is can only mean he's been raised by equally great parents and been around an amazing loving family. Meeting his family made me even more grateful for Nick. And made me more amazed at how when God gives, He gives fully. I guess I kind of took family for granted because I'm from a happy family and just expected that the man I'll meet will be from one as well. I didn't really pray about it. But I see Nick and I see his family and can only be so thankful that his family is as sweet and as loving and as firm (when the brother were growing up) as they are. Nick grew up to be the man that he is now. He's so great to be with, no hangups, no issues in life, so kind, generous, positive, and most of all, can laugh at himself. With parents as great as Mario and Annabelle are, Nick and Mike can only grow up to become the men they are now. And all of them are just so welcoming and loving to me as well. And what swells my heart the most, is that they're proud of my achievements as if I were their own daughter. Technically, I will be soon their daughter-in-law. ☺

Another thing that's amazing - both our families get along. We were only a couple of months into our relationship and yet, a most suitable situation brought our families together - our trip to Vegas.

My first time meeting Nick's mom with her friends

Our families, together. Such a happy event!

We spent last Christmas with them

Nick's brother, Mike last Christmas season

They recently visited us in Vancouver for a week. A short time to be in a company of family but nonetheless, we're so thankful for the great time and that they traveled all the way up here. We toured them around downtown Vancouver, up the mountain in Whistler, Steveston Wharf, Gastown, Stanley Park, and Granville Island. And I think we might have convinced Mike to relocate here after finishing up his studies. Success! Nick and Mike are so good and funny together, it's great to see brothers getting along so well and always looking out for each other.

Of course, Nick and Mike had to match

For this amazing blessing in life, I will always be thankful to God for. ♡

Keep livin' happy! ☺
