Ain't nothing like them summer nights.
It is quite regrettable that Netflix and Chill had been our summer theme. The wild ride that we had because of our wedding had us craving for a chill time together. And chill we did! And anyway, we were on a wedding high and bliss for quite some time after and so we were content with just staying put in our cozy abode. Snuggles, are after all, never overrated.
That be the case, we weren't cooped up all summer long. Although outdoor activities like hiking didn't happen, we still had the kind of fun we do enjoy now - married couple things, as Nick would call it.
Our first on the list has always been a favorite thing to do - picnics. We are so blessed to live near a beautiful park and we go there every once in a while, to relax and do nothing. It's sort of therapeutic in this very noisy world we live in.
I am in love with that picnic basket!! It was Nick's gift for my birthday knowing how I just adore simple stuff like this and our love for picnics. What's better is that he actually prepared our main dish as well, the pasta salad. It was delicious, even made better by the fact that he made it. He's becoming quite the chef, really. So proud of him.

Summer won't be complete without going to a fair and the biggest one so far here is the PNE Fair. Almost missed this actually as we decided to go there two weeks before it's done. That was a good day - hand in hand walks, surrounded by snacks, fair games and rides, and some farm animals. It was as if we were in a suburban movie, really! And I've always loved those kind of scenes. I had a lot more snaps this day but I forgot to save them, bummer.
This before the Celebration of Light event in Vancouver at English Bay. Spent the night with friends watching a Disney-themed fireworks show and yes it was magical.
This was an off-road day camp trip with our friends. Unfortunately, Nick could come because of work. I missed him terribly as it was supposed to be all couples and so I was the only one without a significant other. But it's all good, still enjoyed their company, and the campfire. I think this was at 20 Mile Bay.

My cousin Jacquie was in the States for three months and because she couldn't cross the border just yet to Canada, we all went to Seattle to meet her and our Mama. Unfortunately, Nick had to miss this again because of work. But it's okay, I promised him we'd go back and I'd take him to that amazing seafood restaurant, Crab Pot. So worth it!
And yay, Nick's with us! He has been talking about taking me to this authentic Mexican restaurant in Bellingham (apparently he can't find anything authentic in the city), Mi Mexico. When the long weekend came in for September and for once he didn't have work on a weekend, we set out to fulfill this task. It's definitely worth the trip and we'd surely be going back again! I was in a vegetarian mode (still am actually) and so I had to be forgiving of myself and had this for my meal. Man, that was worth it. Really oily, for sure, but surely Mexican! And the refried pinto beans are the bomb! I mean I would have a bean burrito just for that. My brother also tagged along as it's been too long since we actually spent time together so it was a really fun trip.
We capped off our summer with a drive-in outdoor movie experience, a surprise I had for him for our date night. We didn't take photos as we were mostly inside the car and it was dark. Actually, if you notice, we haven't been taking a lot of selfies lately. We've been past that stage and right now are just enjoying every experience together, forgetting to take selfies. I think that's a good thing. But really, we have about maybe 7 cameras between us, so we have to make use of them! I've been meaning to share them here so I'm share I'll get down to it eventually.
Okay, so it wasn't all Netflix and chill like I said. We even had a picnic and beach day with our family where we played frisbee and when I've finally learned to catch it. Haha! No photos to share as I look horrendously big in all of them!
All in all, I think we were able to fulfill most of our summer bucket list. I've already made our fall bucket list and will share it here soon!
Keep livin happy! ☺

Also celebrated Angela's bridal shower, where I get to wear a flower crown! You bet I made Nick take photos of me. Haha! Her wedding is this Saturday, actually, and I'm so excited for her!
