week 3/52: tea in paris

Friday, January 20, 2017

As Nick was setting up his new laptop, Cortana showed him interesting places nearby and one of them was an afternoon tea place, Adorabelle Tea Room, just a short five-minute drive from us. I'm a lover of all things vintage and English (I have Downton Abbey on every time I'm doing my chores) so the British afternoon tea has always been a fancy of mine and was only glad to go.

I'll most likely do a separate post on that but I'd like to quickly share this - the only instax photo that turned out good from the many I took of that place. I was fairly disappointed that my Mini 90 and I weren't connecting! I was too shaky, I didn't frame it right, I accidentally pressed the shutter while passing the camera to Nick, so many fails. Yep, just one of the many joys of instant film photography.

This would turn out much better if I had the regular film on but I do think Hello Kitty adds some cuteness and a play of colors to the photo. Certainly reflects the kind of afternoon date we had that day - dainty and playful.
