of this grapefruit and avocado crudo recipe

In my resolve to eat healthier and follow a vegetarian meal plan on weekdays, I've borrowed some vegetarian/vegan books to look for more creative and delicious ways to eat healthier.
This grapefruit and avocado crudo appetizer is one of the interesting recipes I've encountered from Michael Natkin's Herviboracious book. And of course, my initial reaction was disbelief that these two could go well together. But I was still willing to try.
According to the book, crudo is the Italian equivalent of sashimi and it is typically dressed with olive oil, sea salt, and a citrus juice, which in this case is built in.
The recipe also calls for sprigs of fresh chervil, or I'd imagine any leafy green like arugula, capers, and freshly ground black pepper. I just didn't have any chervil or arugula, and capers on hand when I made this. Altogether, this dish is surprisingly good! I didn't think grapefruit and avocado will go well together but when you think about it, avocado is always good with any citrus fruit so eating it with slices of grapefruit isn't that much different.
It is a very easy appetizer to make that's both refreshing and palate-satisfying!
