week 7/52: sweet valentine

Chocolates and flowers - two things abundant during this time of year. For some, it's a splendid affair, for others it's just a normal school or work day, as Valentine's fell on a Tuesday.

I've gotten my fair share of "normal" Valentine's day and I'm glad that it's now become a little extra special. I wasn't expecting much this year as we're actually headed down to California the day after V-day (hello from Cali!) and would be vacationing and eating out a lot while there. But we've made last minute plans to have our Valentine's dinner in Vancouver on the day itself as there actually won't be time for us to have diner by ourselves. We're only there with Nick's family for a few days so we figured it's better not to spend any time away from them.

So when Nick came home from work, I was already getting myself ready for our date. Now we only have one bathroom in our place so he asked to use it as nature's calling (TMI? Lol!). After using it, he gave the excuse that we has going to clean up the car so out he went and I continued curling my hair. When he came back, he had the bouquet of roses with him, along with a box of chocolates and a card. He was all smiles as he gave them to me and said he was actually writing on the card and not heeding to nature's call when he asked to use the washroom. Haha!

I was actually surprised because I thought he didn't have time anymore. But really, this is Nick we're talking about. This guy still surprises me with flowers just because, no occasion at all. He wouldn't let this particular day pass by without doing something special.

We laughed as I said he could've written the card in his car and not wasted water "flushing" the toilet to keep up with he pretense. But thanks for this babe! Everyday is special with you. Oh how cheesy!
