week 8/52: hello mellow

It was surprising to know, when Nick and I just started dating, that we both love bunnies. Nick had two of his own before and his parents have one as well. We really couldn't have been more matched.
When we were in Cali last week, we made sure to play with Mellow, his parent's bunny, only the calmest bunny I've ever met. You can actually cuddle with him for hours and he wouldn't mind. Bunnies tend to want to get away, Chip does and so does Casper after some time, so Mellow being this calm is such a nice change. It's like cuddling a live stuffed toy! He is so huge and cute, too!
I have a hard time taking a photo of Chip (my Holland lop) as he is as restless as they come. He'll settle when I pet him but the moment I stop and point my iPhone or Mini 90 for a shot, he runs away to start exploring! As if he hasn't explored enough of our little suite! But he is cute, so it's okay. I'll try the party mode on him one of these days. That'll really put my instax camera to the test!
With Mellow, it was a totally calming and connecting experience. He was settled on the rug already and crouched down more when I started petting him, totally submitting himself onto me. He was so content and at peace that when I set my camera before him, he didn't move an inch. Such a good bunny! He knew that I wanted him just like that and was only happy to oblige, letting me capture this perfect shot of who he is as a bunny - calm and cuddly. Thanks, Mellow!
